Inregards to why the Audi valve lift 2.0T engines have issues have more problems is tough to say. Its often confusing as Audi and VW use the terms FSI, TSI and TFSI which gets pretty confusing. While the valve lift 2.0T engine says TFSI (on A4 and A5 models others too) it is very different from the TSI engine.

Theengine problems with the B8 were due to poor engine design rather than reliability. This looks also to be the case at first glance with the B9. Reactions: Tfsi gone. I hope Audi sort the 2.0 TFSI issues out, unlikely as there now in production. I don't really fancy the diesel route again, too many short journeys.
